Church and she was the winner of their Woman of the Year Award for community service. The park is hilly due to its location on the Balcones escarpment that separates the Texas Hill Country from the flat South Texas region. Friedrich Wilderness Park offers approximately 10 miles of hiking trails with varying degrees of difficulty. It is home for rare birds, terrestrial orchids, steep hills and deep canyons.
